1) post an image with shallow depth of field
2) post a self portrait
If you're using a point and shoot camera, the shallow depth of field assignment may be more difficult. Here are some tips:
- turn off your flash
- use your optical zoom
- get close to the subject, and be sure you're focusing on it (not just on the center of the image)
- put significant distance between your subject and the background
- low light situations offer better opportunities
- if you can't achieve it any other way, use your macro setting
